Lyn Rowe

I joined DMA Law shortly after the merger of Donnelly Adamson, and McArdles as their Practice Manager in 2009. I have over 40 years’ experience in the legal sector, most of which has been in a qualified management role.

My career began in a Newcastle law firm in 1975 as an ‘Office Junior’ moving quickly into a Personal Secretary role whilst balancing the managing of the local office. Over the following 12 years, whilst continuing to work full time, I went on to raise a family, during which time I became a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Secretaries.

Unexpectedly in 1990 a trainee legal executive role and a management role were both offered to me. I chose to go down the management route and went back to studying, over 4 years – evening class and distance learning – whilst balancing a full-time job and raising my family, to gain a number of management qualifications and went on to become the Practice Administration Manager as opposed to the local Office Manager.

It was in 2009 I made a move from the law firm where I had spent 34 years. I have experience in People Management, Health and Safety, Project Management, Facilities Management, Procurement in goods and services and Finance. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.
I welcome a challenge and dealing with a variety of tasks which is probably the reason I love the diverse areas of my job as Practice & Operations Manager.
Any spare time is dedicated to my family. I’d love to say I’m a fitness enthusiast but sadly I’m not. It doesn’t take a lot of persuasion for me to choose between going out for a meal or going to the gym!
