This month we are going to find out a bit more about Marc Hewitt. Mark joined the DMA Law team in 2013 as a paralegal, working in the personal injury and clinical negligence department.
In 2014 he moved to the firm’s criminal department at our Peterlee office. Marc was qualified as a Solicitor with DMA Law following an 18-month period of training.
His new role includes representing clients who are involved in care proceeding and other child law matters. Marc was involved in the opening of our Legal Aid services in our Chester le Street, Consett and Darlington offices.

Why did you want to work in law?
I wanted to help people and work within the court environment.
For how long have you practised law?
Over five years now: I have been at DMA Law since 2013.
What is your practice area?
I currently work in the Family Department. I also assist with the out-of-hours Police Station Department on weekends.
What type of cases do you generally handle?
Care proceedings and matters involving children.
What motivates you?
The ambition to be successful and a sense of achievement.
If you could job swap with anybody for a week, what would you do?
A wine and cheese taster on an exotic island.
If you had to choose a famous person to take with you to a desert island, who would you take and why?
Kim Woodburn: she would keep things clean and provide non-stop entertainment.
Describe your proudest accomplishments in your career.
Qualifying as a solicitor is the proudest moment in my career.
How do you define success?
By the rewards and sense of accomplishment.
What are your hobbies?
Running, the gym, walking my dog and attending the cinema.

How To Get Away With Murder, Designated Survivor and Love Island.
