I qualified as a solicitor in 1998 working for some years before taking a career break to then rejoin the profession in June 2018. I joined the DMA Life Department team in April 2019 and I advise on matters relating to Wills, Trusts and Probate as well as Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection applications. I am a STEP (Society for Trusts and Estate Practitioners) affiliate and, as well working for DMA, am currently studying for the STEP diploma in the Administration of Trusts and Estates.
What I enjoy most about my role is the opportunity to give clients peace of mind about the future and, if losing a loved one, helping clients by relieving the administrative burden that arises.
Outside of work I love spending time with my husband and three children and taking our dog Frodo for walks on the beach that end with fish and chips or ice cream….or both. I am an active member of a large church in Durham, enjoy singing, attend a book club to placate my book wormish tendencies, love gardening of the low maintenance variety and currently strongly dislike aphids. I love going on holiday to Turkey and can speak fluent Turkish, which I learnt whilst living there.
